I REALIZE that
the title is rather blunt, but sometimes bluntness attracts people. Seeing that
you have commenced to read, I trust that you will continue as we unfold some awesome
facts, not only concerning your own body, but facts vital to your eternal welfare!
I have known people that faint at the very sight of blood. Such a condition is
termed bloodphobia. However, constantly coursing through their 60,000 miles of
arteries, veins and capillaries, is blood! God says, "the life of the
flesh is in the blood" (Leviticus 17:11). We simply cannot live without
it!
Your blood consists of 22% solids, 78% water, and constitutes about 8% of your
body weight. Your arterial blood is bright red and your venous blood is dark red.
Composed of red and white corpuscles, platelets, fat globules, and a great variety
of chemical substances including carbohydrates, proteins, hormones, and some oxygen,
your blood carries nourishment to your tissues and takes away waste matter.
Would you believe that one drop of blood contains 5,000,000 red cells, 7,500 white
cells, and 300,000 platelets? Still more amazing is the fact that every second
millions of red cells are destroyed and your body produces new ones to immediately
take their place! Most adults contain between four and six quarts of this amazing
substance called blood, which travels a complete circuit through their vascular
system every twenty seconds!
The Bible's Blood
Just as every living person has blood, so the Holy Bible, a God-breathed, living
Book, mentions blood 447 times! The Bible was written to reveal God, our need
of a Saviour, and God's way of salvation. Would you believe that, just as your
body needs blood to sustain life on this earth, so also does your soul need blood
to take you to heaven? It is a Biblical fact!
Most folks that are desirous to go to heaven in the next life have methods to
seemingly accomplish their purpose. Some join a church, others get baptized, others
take the so-called sacraments, while multitudes just perform good works, such
as giving to charity, helping others, and telling the truth. Such efforts contribute
to a healthy and moral society, but let me startle you with this God-proclaimed
fact - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians
2:8-9). You simply cannot be saved by works! Isn't that contradictory to man's
way of thinking? It certainly is! But listen, whom would you rather believe, the
clergy, the cults, or Christ? If you plan to enter God's heaven, then it stands
to reason that you must enter that heaven God's way!
God says, "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"
(Romans 3:23). God is "of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not
look on iniquity" (Habakkuk 1:13), thus none of us can ever enter heaven
unless all of our sins are washed away. Since the church or good works can never
cleanse us, what can be done? Is there a solution to the problem? Absolutely!
So do read on!
An Established Fact!
God has decreed, "Without shedding of blood is no remission"
(Hebrews 9:22). Now that is an established, God-given fact! Blood from a sacrifice
must be shed if we are ever to be cleansed and made fit for heaven! There is absolutely
no other way, no matter what anybody says! The Jewish nation offered animal sacrifices,
but God states, "It is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats
should take away sins" (Hebrews 10:4). However, even though good works
fail and animal sacrifices fail, there is blood available
for you that can wash you whiter than the snow and give you an absolute
guarantee of heaven! This is an amazing fact! It is a God-inspired truth! You
can stake your whole eternal destiny on it! Let me tell you about it.
Many years ago, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners"
(1 Timothy 1:15). "He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself"
(Hebrews 9:26). Speaking of the cross and His crucifixion, He said, "This
is My blood... which is shed for many for the remission of sins" (Matthew
26:28). "Christ died for our sins... He was buried, and... He rose again
the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Not
only this, God informs us that we are "not redeemed with corruptible things,
as silver and gold... But with the precious blood of Christ" (1 Peter
1:18-19). To be redeemed simply means that one will never be punished in hell
for their sins, but that they will have a glorious eternal home in heaven!
The Cleansing Power of the Blood
But wait, there's even more! God announces that "the blood of Jesus Christ
His Son cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). Every sin that you have
committed, or may yet commit, can be entirely put away through the blood of the
Lord Jesus Christ! Friend, receive Christ now as your only means of cleansing
and if you do, I'll meet you in heaven in the sweet bye and bye!
